San Valentin's Day History

Every year on February 14 some countries such as Canada, United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France and Australia celebrate San Valentine’s Day.  This day everything is pink, and you can see many hearts around you on walls, posters, chocolates, cards, clothes, etc. This day people who have o want a romantic relationship with someone, give each other letters, chocolates, flowers, Teddy bears and whatever thing that can represent love.  This is a very romantic holiday, but. Have you ever asked the Valentine’s Day History?  Well I’m going to tell you about it.  Some people say that it is in February 14 because in the Nordic countries during this time the birds mate, so February is like a love symbol.  The Valentine’s Day has two theories about the origin. The firs, is about Valentine. He was a catholic priest who married Roman soldiers by the catholic ceremony (married them off hidden from the Emperor Claudio II), because the Emperor said that the single soldiers were worse that the married soldiers. When the Emperor discovered the Valentine’s actions, he ordered to kill Valentine. A legend said that when Valentine was in prison, he sent the first valentine greeting himself after he fell in love with a girl. The second history said that in the old Rome they celebrated a special day in honor to the good of the love Eros, but the Roman people called him Cupid. In this celebration the Roman people gave him a lot of presents and gifts and they asked him to find the ideal love. I don’t know which story is true, some people say that it is just a commercial day, but I think that San Valentine’s day is a good opportunity for spend time with the person that you love, and show with a special gift that this person is special for you. Happy San Valentine’s Day !!!!!!!
